Big Kahuna

Worked at the Big Kahuna, Noah's larger wave pool, today. There are usually six deep guards watching the water at Kahuna, and all are needed: the pool is HUGE and packed with guests at the peak of the season. Good that we were first assigned there now that there's not so many people.

There are two kinds of waves in Kahuna, normal straight-forward ones and kind of cris-cros ones. The latter are more fun and of course more dangerous, too. In the waves it can be tricky to spot drowning or distressed guests from those that are just having fun. The waves are always on for 10 minutes and then off for 10 minutes. Guards are on one spot for two wave cycles, then they rotate.

Valtteri made his first save at Kahuna today. Thumbs up for Valtteri. Wonder when I have to jump into the pool...
